San Miguel de Salinas Easter Parades

The Easter Parades in San Miguel de Salinas are worth seeing if you are local to the town. This year, 2017 they start on Friday 7th April and continue almost daily until Easter Sunday on the 16th April. The processions offer the same as the ones in the cities and other places such as Crevillent and Orihuela where the celebrations have been award International Tourist Interest status, just on a much smaller scale.
Friday of Sorrows 7th April Viernes de Dolores 
21:30 Procession the Way of the Cross, ascent to Mount Calvary.
Palm Sunday 9th April Domingo de Ramos 
12:00 Gathering at the entrance to San Miguel on the Carretera de Orihuela where the Palms will be blessed, followed by the Palm Procession to the church.
19:00 Procession of the Mantillas
Holy Wednesday 12th April Miercoles Santo 
21:30 Procession during which the statue of Christ the Nazarene meets the statue of Saint Veronica.
Holy Thursday 13th April Jueves Santo 
23:00 Silent Procession.
Good Friday 14th April Viernes Santo 
12:00 Tamborada, beating of the drums, in the church square.
21:00 Procession of the Holy Burial.
Easter Sunday 16th April Domingo de Pascua 
10:00 Procession of the Encounter.
