Denia Rocio Romeria

The 26th Romeria in honour of the Virgen del Rocio will take place in Denia from the 3rd to the 5th June 2016. The celebrations include traditional dances, songs and prayers as well as the actual romeria (short pilgrimage) with the statue of the Virgen del Rocio.
 
Friday 3rd June
21:30 Performance by the flamenco dance group Casa de Andalucía de Denia in the Casa de Andalucia followed by Rociera music.
 
Saturday 4th June
12:00 Performance of flamenco dancing by the children's group Casa de Andalucía .
18:00 Gathering of the horses, carriages and all participants of the romeria in Calle Nou de Octubre outside the Casa de Andalucia.
18:30 Romeria with the statue of the virgen. Route: Calle Nou de Octubre, Avd. Montgo, Plaza Jaine I, Paseo Saladar, Calle Marques de Campo, Calle Diana, Calle la Via, Avd. De Alicante, Avd. Campo Torres, Camino del Cementerio finishing at the Poligono Juyarco.
22:00 Tasting of bread with tomatoes and serrano ham.
00:00 Singing of the traditional Salve Rociera.
00:30 Performance by the group Semilla Rociera de Espartinas from Sevilla.

Sunday 5th June
11:30 Blessing of the romeros.
12:00 Mass sung by the Rociero Choir from Alcoy during which the flower offering will take place.
20:00 Returning of the statue of the Virgen del Rocio to the Casa de Andalucia.
