Elche Moors & Christians

Elche will be celebrating its annual fiesta in honour of their patron saint, the Sra. la Virgen de la Asunción, Mother of Jesus with a Moors and Christians Fiesta from the 7th to the 11th August 2018.
 
Tuesday 7th August
  • 19:30 Entrace Parade of the Bands. Route: Calle Trinquet, Corredora, Plaça i Baix, Reina Victoria, Blas Valero & Lepanto.
  • 23:20 Entraeta Parade of Moors and Christians. Route: Calle Marqués de Asprillas, Reina Victoria, Plaça i Baix, Corredora, Carrer Ancha finishing at the Plaça de la Mercé.
  • 22:00 Opening speeches for the fiesta from the Balcony of the Ayuntamiento de Elche in the Plaça i Baix.
Wednesday 8th August
  • 09:00 Diana, early morning parade. Route: Plaza del Raval, Carrer Sant Joan, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Alfonso XII, Plaça i Baix, Mare de Déu dels Desamparats, Troneta, Salvador finishing at the Iglesia de El Salvador.
  • 20:30 Moors Entrance Parade. Route: Calle Reina Victoria, Plaça i Baix, Corredora to Puente Ortices.
Thursday 9th August
  • 09:00 Alardo, early morning parade from the Puente Ortices to the Palacio Altamira.
  • 20:00 Children's Parade Of Moors And Christians. Route: Calle Alfonso XII, Plaça i Baix, Corredora, Carrer Ample to Plaza del Congreso Eucarístico.
  • 22:00 Moors Embassy at the Altamira Palace next Christians Embassy, where the city is handed over to King Jaume I.
Friday 10th August
  • 09:00 Diana, early morning parade from the Cábilas and Cuartelillos along various streets.
  • 20:30 Christians Entrance Parade. Route: calle Reina Victoria, Plaça i Baix, Corredora to Puente Ortices.
Saturday 11th August
  • 09:00 Diana, early morning parade from the Cábilas and Cuartelillos along various streets.
  • 19:45 Flower Offering Procession by the Moors and Christians Fiesta Association. Route; Calle Juan Ramón Jiménez, Alfonso XII, Plaza de Baix, Corredora, Carrer Ample finshing in Plaza de Santa María at the Cathedral.
