Santa Pola Easter Parades

The Easter Parades in Santa Pola are well worth seeing if you are local. This year, 2018 they start on Palm Sunday 23rd March and continue almost daily until Easter Sunday on the 1st April. The processions offer the same as the ones in the cities and other places such as Crevillent and Orihuela where the celebrations have been award International Tourist Interest status, just on a much smaller scale.
Palm Sunday 25th March Domingo de Ramos
11:00 Blessing of the Palms in the Plaza Glorieta, followed by the Palm Procession with the statue Jesus Triunfante. Route: Glorieta, Cruz, Colón, Pza. M. Quislant, Mayor, Ángel, Elche, Iglesia.
Holy Tuesday 27th March Martes Santo
22:00 Procession del Encuentro with two routes, which meet at the Glorieta in front of the Castle:
Statue Veronica: Ramon y Cajal, Santa Isabel, Glorieta, Elche, Iglesia.
Statue Ntro. Padre Jesus Nazareno: Iglesia, Elche, San Antonio, Mayor, Pza. Maestro Quislant, Colón, Cruz, Glorieta, Elche, Iglesia.
Holy Wednesday 28th March Miercoles Santo
21:00 Procession Via Crucis. Route: Ermita del Puerto, del Muelle, Glorieta, Cruz, Santo Tomás, Ganaderos, Caridad, Ermita del Calvario, San Fernando, San Pascual, Zorrilla, Calvario, Mercado, Iglesia.
Holy Thursday 29th March Jueves Santo
22:00 Silent Procession with the statues ECCE Homao, Cristo de la Agonia and Ntra. Sra. De la Esperanza and La Paz. Route: C/ Iglesia, Mercado, Mayor, Ángel, Elche, Marqués de Molins, Santa Isabel, Glorieta, Iglesia.
Good Friday 30th March Viernes Santo
20:00 Procession del Santo Entierro with all the statues Jesus De Medinacelo, La Flagelacion, Ntro. Padre Jesus Nazareno, Ntra. Sra. de La Esperanza y La Paz, Cristo de La Agonia, La Piedad, Cruz del Sudario, Cristo Yacente, La Dolorosa. Route: C/ Iglesia, Elche, Ramón y Cajal, Santa Isabel, Glorieta, Elche, Iglesia.
Easter Sunday 1st April Domingo de Pascua
11:00 Procession del Santo Encuentro with two routes which meet in the Glorieta in front of the Castle when the Tamborrada (drumming) takes place:
