Yecla Fiesta San Isidro

Yecla will be celebrating the Fiesta of San Isidro from the 11th to the 20th May 2018. The fiesta has been declared as being of Regional Tourist Interest and is particularly well know for the carnival which takes place on Saturday 19th May.
 
The full programme in Spanish is in the brochure below and the highlights are:
 
Saturday 5th May
19:00 Parade to collect the fiesta queens followed by the announcement of their election in the Casa Consistorial.
22:00 Opening speeches for the fiesta in the Teatro Concha Segura.
 
Friday 11th May
18:00 Opening of the San Isidro Market in Avda. Pablo Picasso
21:00 Inauguration of the fair ground Recinto de los Ventorrillos
 
Saturday 12th May
09:00 Gachasmigas competition at the Anigua Estación del Tren.
10:00 Opening of the San Isidro Market in Avda. Pablo Picasso
11:00 Opening of the Recinto de los Ventorrillos with activities throughout the day and evening
19:30 10th Exhibition of Folklore beside the Antiguo Cuartel de la Guardia Civil on Calle Esteban Díaz
 
Sunday 13th May
10:00 Opening of the San Isidro Market in Avda. Pablo Picasso
11:00 Mass at the Basílica de la Purísima, followed by the Procession with the statue of San Isidro, the fiesta queens, folk groups and other dignitaries. Route: Plaza España, Juan Ortuño, Jumilla, Santa Bárbara, Niño Jesús, Hospital, Cruz de Piedra, Francisco Castaño, Maestro Mora, San José, San Francisco and al Atrio de La Purísima.
 
Thursday 17th May
19:00 Parade of the music bands and the fiesta queens through the streets of the town, arriving at the Recinto de los Ventorrillos at about 21:00 for the 'Homenaje a las Peñas de San Isidro'.
 
Friday 18th May
19:30 Hoguera Parade Route: Calle Martínez Corbalán, Plaza Mayor, Epifanio Ibáñez, Horma del Niño, Niño, Santa Bárbara (where the hoguera is lit) Santa Bárbara, Jumilla, Juan Ortuño, España, San Isidro, Cruz de Piedra, Corredera, a Plaza Mayor, Martinez Corbalán, Atrio de la Basílica de la Purísima.
 
Saturday 19th May
17:00 Carnival Parade with Batalla de Flores. Route: from the antigua Estación along calles Maestro Mora, San José, Pascual Amat, Francisco Azorín, Carlos III, Colón, San Antonio, Esteban Díaz and finishing at the Estación.
 
Sunday 20th May
19:00 Prize giving ceremony for winners of all competitions held throughout the fiesta in the Recinto de los Ventorrillos
 
Saturday 26th May
12:00 Romeria (short pilgrimage) of San Isidro starting from Raspay.
18:00 Mass at Raspey, followed by a procession in the Calles de la Pedanía.
