As Lent continues, so do the Tapas Routes and Menu Weeks, but there are still plenty of events to enjoy, such as the last of the Carnival Parades and a large Medieval Market in Villena! Before the end of the month Saint Patrick will be celebrated, the Fallas will be burnt and the clocks will have changed to Summer Time hours!

Two excellent concerts in the Cuevas del Canelobre in Busot - both must be booked by Sunday! Brazilian Jazz on Friday 22nd March and Rhythm & Blues on Saturday 23rd March. Elche are playing at home on Saturday 9th March against Cadiz, it is 20€for match ticket and coach travel. There are 4 places left on the coach for Spain v Norway in Valencia, book your own match ticket via the Spanish Football Federation website for between 10€ and 60€. The large Medieval Market will take place in Villena this weekend, and there will be a small Plant and Flower Market in Pilar de la Horadada on Sunday morning. There are six gastro events; the Artichoke Fair will take place in Almoradi, and the Tapeix Route finishes in Santa Pola on Sunday. It is the final weekend of the Tapas and Gin Route in Albatera, and the Rice Menu Week ends on Sunday in Torrevieja. The Tapas Route continues in both Crevillent and Novelda. On Friday special Lent Menus can be tried in Alicante City and Orihuela..

Costa Calida

The 6th Carnival Tapas Route finishes in Santiago de la Ribera on the 10th March. The Grand Carnival Parade takes place in Cehegin on Saturday and another Grand Carnival Parade takes place in Santiago de la Ribera on Sunday. It is the third and final Carnival Parade in Aguilas on Saturday. The programme of Free Guided Visits continues throughout the Region of Murcia.

There will be a free Guided Tour on Sunday in Altea, and the monthly Farmers Market will take place in Benissa on Saturday morning. The Cuina Marinera Menus finish on Sunday in Villajoyosa, and the 8th Soup and Stew Gastronomy Week ends on Sunday in Benidorm. The month long Guiame Tapas Route continues in Denia, where bars will be offering a Tapa and Drink for 3€ until the 14th March, and the Spring edition of the Plat Menus continues in Javea.
