What's On

The main event this weekend is the Fallas. This fiesta honours Saint Joseph, the father of Jesus, and also marks Spanish Fathers Day on Tuesday 19th. Remember that this is a public holiday, so many businesses will be closed. There are Fallas in Benidorm, Calpe and Denia, but by far the biggest and the best Fallas are in the city of Valencia. It is also Saint Patricks Day on Sunday the 17th, so the annual Parade and Party will take place in Cabo Roig. The Easter Programmes are just beginning to appear, please click through to April for the Parade times, routes and dates of the ones added so far

There is a fabulous Jazz Concert in the amazing setting of the Busot Caves on Friday 22nd March, and a Music from Films Symphonic Concert in Torrevieja on the 6th April, There are only 2 places left on the coach for Spain v Norway in Valencia, and Elche are playing at home on Saturday 23rd March against Alcorcon, it is 20€ for match ticket and coach travel. There is a Countryside Parade on the 23rd April, and a Flower Parade on the 25th April for the Spring Festival in Murcia, the Night of the Museums on the 18th May in Cartagena, and a great opportunity for a 2 day coach tour to Valencia including a visit to the Lladro Factory. Costa Blanca South

The Lent menus continue in Pilar de la Horadada, where they are 20€ per person, in Alicante City where they are also 20€ per person, and in Orihuela where they are 30€ per person. The 10th Tapas Route finishes in Crevillent on Tuesday, as does the 1st Spoon Gastronomy Meals in Guardamar del Segura. The De Tapas Route continues in Novelda, where 12 establishments are offering a gourmet tapa for 2€. There will be partying, a parade and much more on the Strip in Cabo Roig on Saturday for Saint Patricks day, whilst in Dolores there is a free guided Bird Watching Tour.

Costa Calida

There are two Carnival Parades on Saturday, one in Sucina and the other in Torre Pacheco. There will be Discount Shopping in Caravaca de la Cruz and a Baroque Market in Mula. The Equimur Pure Breeds Horse show will be at the IFEPA in Torre Pacheco, and the 19th edition of the Antique Car Rally will take place in the Region of Murcia. The Free Guided Visits continue through out the Region of Murcia as part of their year long Tu Visita Guiada.

Costa Blanca North

The Fallas is the only event taking place this weekend in the Costa Blanca North. They are Fallas in Benidorm, Calpe and Denia where the Ninots will all be burnt on Tuesday evening.
